#4 Moonlight on the Water

Chapter 34

Navy

Suddenly, a sharp pain ripped through my skin before my body was overtaken with pleasure. I shuttered, unable to control myself as I withered under him. He started licking the wound, sealing his mark shut and healing me with his tongue. I gasped loudly as I came undone.

“Apparently I have even less willpower than I thought.” Knox grumbled, holding me tightly.

“Alistair knew what he wanted.” I smiled, pressing my hands against his cheeks and searching his dark eyes for my wolf.

“That he did. He loves you, Navy, very much.” Knox replied sweetly.

“And I love him.” Knox sat me down and cleaned me off.

“It’s going to be tender for a while.” He said, lightly dabbing my neck with a warm, soapy washcloth.

“It’s okay.” I said, giddy with excitement,

“I love it.” I hadn’t even seen his mark yet but I already knew I loved it. Wearing his mark made me swell with pride.

“I love you in it, baby.” Knox agreed, peppering my neck with kisses. The second his lips grazed my mark I was shaking under him all over again.

“Sorry, baby.” Knox chuckled, pulling away. I rolled my eyes at him and stepped out of the shower on shaky legs.

“Knox?” I asked him while standing in front of the mirror. I was admiring the silvery mark on my neck, moving around so the light would catch it.

“Yes, my love?” He stepped up behind me and wrapped his arms around my bare waist.

“Do you want to wear my mark?” I asked him.

“You can do that?” He eyed my reflection.

“We have to be in the water.” I explained.

“Let’s go, right now!” Knox said eagerly, dragging me towrds the door.

“Uhm, Knox?” I dug my heels into the carpet,

“I’m naked.” Knox froze by the door, seeming to just now realize we were both still exposed.

“Shit.” Knox was a flurry of movement as he hurried to the closet and shoved me into one of his large sweatshirts. It nearly hit the floor, covering my entire body.

“This is ridiculous.” I laughed, holding my arms out and looking down at myself. The sleeves gave me chicken wings and I shook them around, giggling at myself. Knox came out in a pair of sweatpants.

“You look adorable.” He smirked, kissing my forehead and grabbing my hand.

He pulled me all the way down to the main floor and towards the back door, ignoring every laugh, every question, and every outburst from the pack members. I waved sheepishly at them, apologizing for my mate’s rude behavior. He stormed across the sand and splashed through the water, still in his pants.

“Someone is an eager beaver, especially after giving me all sorts of grief yesterday.” I called out to him, still standing on the shore.

“Get in here, little mate, before I come out there and collect you!” He grinned at me mischievously. I knew him well enough to know that he was serious.

I tugged off his sweatshirt and removed the transparent shield from my legs. The second the water lapped around my feet, I dove in with my tail. I swam over to my mate, who had removed his now soaking wet pants and flung them onto the sand.

“How does it work?” He asked me.

“Honestly, it’s a little freaky.” I admitted, suddenly feeling embarrassed.

“More freaky than me half shifting into a wolf and biting you with my canines?” He laughed.

“You know those movies where a siren’s face transforms from this beautiful goddess to a terrifying monster?” I asked.

“Yeah….”

“Yeah, well, that’s partially accurate.” I sighed.

“Really?”

“I mean, I don’t think it’s that bad, but yes. My face is going to change. My eyes will glow and my teeth will turn into fangs. You’ll hear my song and then I’ll bite you, just like you did to me.” I explained carefully.

“Whatever it takes, baby.” Knox shrugged but I could tell that he was a little apprehensive.

“Come here.” I cooed, pulling him towards me. We started kissing again, the tension immediately leaving us.

His hands explored my body as mine rested on his hips. After we were both relaxed, I felt my face starting to change as the desire to mark him overwhelmed me. Knox pulled me back so he could watch. I felt my eyes start to burn as they glowed brightly, my face slightly changing to accommodate the fangs I would need to mark him. My cheeks became more defined and the space around my eyes started to hollow out. Knox’s hands went to my face as he explored my changes.

“This will only happen when you mark me?” He asked in a quiet voice.

“Yes, just this once.” I nodded.

“Then, I want to remember this moment.” I was afraid that he would be scared of me, instead he was looking at me with awe and wonder. His thumb grazed my taunt cheek bone, his touch sending fireworks over my skin.

“Your skin feels different.” He observed, I could only nod. I felt closer to him now than ever before. I got to see him as a werewolf and now he was seeing me in the true siren form. This was a sacred connection that siren’s didn’t take lightly.

“Are you ready?” I asked him. He pressed his lips to mine softly and then nodded.

His hands gripped my body tightly as he craned his neck for me. I started kissing the exposed skin between his neck and shoulder, sucking on it gently and preparing it for my mark. In one swift movement, I sank my newly developed fangs into his tough skin. Thank the Goddess siren’s fangs were built for any species, because it took all I had to break his skin.

I felt the blood start to dribble out and I carefully licked the wound closed. I felt my face return to normal as his mark began to heal. I pulled away and admired it. His mark shimmered like mine, only it was blue instead of silver. Knox touched it blindly,

“That felt amazing.” He moaned, his eyes still closed.

“Now we belong to each other forever.” I said, folding myself in his arms. He held onto me and we floated in the water, circling each other in peace.

“Forever, baby.” He purred in agreement.
