300 Days With The Alpha Beta Triplets

Chapter JOSEPH BLACK-MOON

Bella:

"What?" I asked, staring at Finn.

"Is something wrong?" Finn asked, and I shook my head at once, shutting my book and getting to my feet. "Bella, is something wrong?" I felt a slight shiver as his hands grazed my skin, then I turned to face him.

For a moment, I battled with my mind, wondering if I should spill what I knew to him, but if I didn't, I would have to solve whatever this was, and I didn't want to follow the same path I did with Fae.

"He is the man from my dream last night." The words came out of my mouth, and Finn stared with his face contorted in confusion.

I sighed, then walked back to the bed.

"I had a nightmare last night," I said to him, and he sat close to me as I started narrating everything I could remember from the dream.

I ended by saying, "The dream felt so real, and I have a scar from it." I showed him the mark on my hand, and he ran his hands over it.

"According to Hazel, you didn't kill Bonnie, so why is she mad at you? She should be mad at Sebastian."

"She accused me of moving on and not killing her. Maybe I moved on fast, but it was the activities in school that distracted me, and I would never forget Bonnie. I loved her so much, and I never forgave myself until I found out I didn't kill her."

Finn snaked his hands around my waist, pulling me to him, then placed my head on his shoulder, kissing my head. "It's okay, and it's probably just a nightmare. Maybe you scratched yourself," he said, and I kept silent, trying hard to wallow in the delusion he was trying to create, but a part of my heart felt uneasy.

I wanted just a moment where I could live a normal life and not feel like my life was about to end, but it didn't seem like it would happen anytime soon.

"What do you want to do today? It's a perfect Saturday, and everyone has found something to keep themselves busy except us," Finn said, causing me to tilt my head a bit until I could see his face.

"What do you mean, except us?" I asked in a low voice.

"Ryder and Kai went to a football game. The tickets you got for Ryder's birthday. He took Kai. I didn't object because I saw it as an opportunity to spend some time with you," he said, then I sat up.

"And Hazel has gone on a trip with Riley," I added, staring into thin air like I had seen a ghost.

I shrieked at once as I felt a chill up my spine from thinking of ghosts.

"We are supposed to study for exams, but since they are all having fun in pairs, maybe we can do something. It might help keep me away from what's troubling my mind," I said to him, and he nodded in agreement.

I supported my chin with my hands as I thought of the best plan to escape this.

"How about a picnic?" My voice came out high-pitched, but when I realized the sun was scorching, my enthusiasm died. "We would fry under the sun."

"How about we go out to shop for what we need, then we can go for the picnic when the sun sets? It's better than lying around doing nothing."

I jumped up at his idea and got out of bed at once.

"Two heads are always better than one," I said, and he chuckled, getting to his feet.

"I'll see you in..."

"Thirty minutes," I completed, then he pecked my cheek before he left.

About an hour later, I was done while Finn lay on my bed waiting for me. He kept to the thirty minutes, but everyone knows that when a girl gives you a particular time, she just means double that.

"Ready," I said, and he groaned, sitting up on the bed.

"Finally!" His brows were wrinkled, but the moment my lips grazed his skin, his face loosened up at once, and he got to his feet, holding my hands.

We left at once, making our way to the car park where his car was parked. We got into it, and he drove off at once. "Let's make a list," I said, taking out my phone and opening my notes app. "So, what do you want?" I asked, and he glanced at me for a second, just enough to take his eyes back to the road.

"As long as there's alcohol, I don't care about the snacks. You can pick that out," he said, and I rolled my eyes. "Of course, leave the planning to me!" I said with my voice laced with sarcasm.

"Is everything okay?" he asked, and I looked at him, raising a brow.

Was he seriously asking? Who would want to plan a picnic meant for two people alone? We were supposed to spend our day together, and I was doing the planning alone. How fun is that?

"You think?"

"Is this because of the alcohol?" he asked, and I scoffed.

"No, Finn. We're supposed to go for a picnic, which involves two people, and I'm planning it alone. It's almost as if you don't want to attend, or it doesn't make you..."

"Jeez, Bella!" he cut me short, then glanced at me. "I didn't know it meant that much to you, and I wouldn't have given a casual reply if I knew you wanted me to be actively involved. I'm sorry," he said, and I took a deep breath, throwing my head back on the seat.

"Very well then," I said, sitting up. "You want alcohol, and I want soda," I said, then I started to make the list with him. In no time, we were done, and just in time as we arrived at the store. Finn got out of the car and made his way to mine, but I had already opened the door before he could get to me.

"I'll try to be faster next time," he said, and I gave him a smile, then he took my hand in his, walking me into the store ahead.

As soon as we walked in, the bell on the door rattled, alerting the store owner, a bald man with a mustache.

"Good day, children. How may I help you?" he asked, giving us the warmest smile.

"We have a list," I said to him, showing him the list in hand, then he pointed toward the aisles in front. "Two aisles to the left. You should find what you need," he said, and I nodded, mouthing a thank you as we walked toward the aisles.

When we got there, I saw the things we needed at first glance. I rushed toward them, grabbing some chips, then I realized we had no baskets.

"Baskets!" Finn exclaimed, then he made his way out of the aisle while I remained there, noting everything that we needed.

I marked the items I had seen off the list, then walked further down until I got to the end. As I stood there, I had a feeling that I was being watched, but each time I looked up, there was nobody there.

It must be in your mind, I said to myself, then continued with what I was doing, running down through the lists.

"Bella," I heard my name at once, causing me to turn back, and my body froze as I saw the man from my dream. My phone slipped from my hands as I glanced at him, standing at the end of the hall in a suit, just like he was in my dream, with the same sinister smile.

I felt a cool breeze sweep by, and my legs became planted on the floor. What the hell was going on? I questioned myself.

He started walking toward me, and I tried to move, but my legs remained stuck on the ground, which caused me to scream out loud as I began tugging on my legs to move, but to no avail.

"Bella!" Finn called out at once, causing him to disappear, and my legs lifted off the ground as I pulled them. "Is everything okay?" Finn asked, and I stood there for a moment, unable to speak as I looked around, trying to find

Black-Moon, but to no avail.

Just like that, he was gone.

"Bella!" Finn shook me again, drawing me back to reality to see his face burdened with worry.

"He... he was here. Black-Moon was here!" I said in a raised tone, and he shook his head.

"There's no one here, Bella. It's just me, you, and the shopkeeper," he said, but I withdrew my hand from his, walking toward the end of the hall.

He came after me, pulling me to his chest. "Even if he was here, he's gone, and I won't let anyone or any ghost hurt you," he said.
