“They’re taking in children on the ground floor and sending them to the rooftop,” Tumelo said. “Not only that, but they’re being deployed on every floor. I can see them standing ten, maybe fifteen deep at every window.

Callum was dumbstruck.

Cleo turned to him with a look of paranoid frustration. “What now?”

“We can’t risk killing one child,” Indranil said.

“Jacob,” Cleo whispered.

Callum gazed at her with a quizzical expression.

“He makes things appear and disappear. Maybe he can save the children, and Gideon.”

“Get Jacob to this location,” Callum said.
