Chapter 49
Godric
The next morning, Gabe left early to check on any updates from the trackers and Griffin wanted to check on the status of the security updates we were adding to the pack’s border. That left me alone with my sleeping mate. She stirred and mumbled something in her sleep, burying her face into my chest. I kissed the top of her head and she groaned, rolling over and looking up at me.
“Hi.” She grumbled and I chuckled at her sleepy sounding voice.
“Good morning, precious.” I bent down to kiss her lips.
“Ew, I have morning breath!” She protested, turning her face away from me.
I growled playfully and snatched up her face, forcing her to look back at me so I could place a loud kiss right on her lips.
“Don’t ever deny me what is mine.” I said in a husky tone.
Her eyes went wide and then it was her turn to have changing irises. Only hers didn’t turn black, they started to glow with specs of fiery ember red glittering in her hazel orbs. I cupped her face, running my thumb across her cheek bone. Before I could say anything about it, she was crawling on top of me.
“Harlow?” I said in surprise.
She smirked at me and yanked my shirt over my head, running her hands up and down my body. I threw my head back against the pillow and let out a low, lustful growl. I gripped her hips, keeping her still as she straddled me.
“You’re playing a dangerous game, precious.” I said, showing her my black gaze.
“It’s not a game. Make me yours, Godric.” She said in a sexy voice laced with desire. I felt my eyes widen and my member hardened immediately in my boxers.
“Harlow, are you sure? Because once I start I won’t be able to stop.” I warned her.
“Good. Don’t ever stop.” Her words pushed me right over the edge.
With my hands still gripping her hips, I flipped her around so she was laying on the bed and I was on top. I pinned her arms above her head and started attacking her lips with mine. I bit down on her bottom lip and she gasped, opening her mouth and allowing me access. Once I was satisfied with her swollen lips, I pulled away and ripped off her clothes. She gasped as she watched her shredded clothes hit the floor.
“Don’t move.” I ordered her when she started to squirm and attempted to cover herself.
I forced her arms back above her head and glared at her until she stilled. Her arousal dripped from between her legs and I took a deep breath, inhaling as much of her euphoric scent as I could. I started peppering her body with love bites and kisses, sucking and nibbling her perfectly pale skin. I moved my kisses over the hills and valleys of her breasts and stomach until I ended up between her legs.
I threw her legs over my shoulder and smirked at the adorable blush that began to cover her face. I ran my tongue up the length of her sex and chuckled as she began to squirm. I stilled her body by clutching her hips and then dove in, bringing her right to the edge of her release before pulling my face away. She whimpered,
“Godric.” She tugged at my hair and I laughed, moving back up her body.
“We finish together for the first time, precious.” I told her before positioning myself at her dripping entrance.
I gripped her breasts as I buried myself inside her in one swift motion. She gasped and thrashed her head to the side, moaning out in pleasure as I began to ram into her hard and fast. I felt her clench around my member and I knew we were both close, so I brought my mouth to her neck and started prepping her marking spot. Just as she fell over the edge, I sank my canines into her marking spot and fell over the edge with her.
I rolled to the side, taking her with me so my arms were wrapped securely around her petite frame. She started snoring seconds later. I hadn’t realized I’d fallen asleep until I felt a tiny hand tapping my arm. I jumped and jerked to the side, ready for a fight, until my eyes landed on the little preschool body of Canyon.
“Hey, buddy, what’s going on?” I whispered, trying not to wake up Harlow.
“I was looking for Mommy. I had a nightmare and she makes me feel better after a nightmare.” He whined, sucking his thumb.
“Well, mommy is sleeping, but maybe I can help?” I carefully slipped out of bed and picked him up.
“Okay, Ric.” He mumbled my name and allowed me to carry him back to his room.
I never thought I would adopt children and I certainly never thought those kids would have me wrapped around their finger in a matter of days. The second Canyon called Harlow mommy I was done. He was my son, and Maggie and Tulley were my daughters, end of story. I had all the faith in the world in Harlow coming around and accepting the fact that she’s more than capable of being their amazing mother.
“Let’s get you tucked in.” I said, nestling Canyon back into bed, “Now, I want you to know what I tell mommy everyday, nothing can ever touch you when I’m here.”
“You promise?” Canyon’s bottom lip quivered.
“I promise. Now, go to sleep.” I kissed his forehead.
“Will you stay here until I fall asleep, Ric?” His tiny little hand wrapped around my hand.
I literally couldn’t say no even if the house was on fire.
I sat down on the ground beside his bed and held his hand until he fell asleep. Once his little snores filled the room, I snuck out and rode the elevator down stairs.
“Well someone looks pleased with himself.” Gabe chuckled as I entered his office.
“And then there was one.” Griff tried not to look disappointed. He was eager to lie with our mate as well but he was the most patient of us all and would wait forever if he had to for her to give herself to him.
“She’s ready, man, she’ll be coming for you soon.” I chuckled, “Thank the Goddess there’s three of us because I think our mate is a little vixen in bed.”
Gabe started laughing and Griff’s eyes darkened with desire.
“Oh, I noticed that her eyes changed this morning when she started initiating…things.” I said, making a motion with my hands.
“What do you mean they changed?” Gabe asked.
“She had specks of red and orange in her eyes, like fire embers.” I explained what I had seen.
“So she’s definitely getting abilities.” Griff said, mostly to himself.
“I didn’t want to believe it at first, but I know our mate has no reason to lie to us and she wouldn’t just dream of the Moon Goddess and dragons by chance.” Gabe still looked to be in a state of disbelief.
“Our mate is special, no doubt about that.” I said with a grin.
“I wonder what Selene meant when she said that the King Alpha and Queen Luna would need her?” Griff wondered.
“I don’t know, but we’ll all be ready for whatever happens. I don’t care if they are the royal family, if they want to put her life in danger I’ll go to war.” Gabe said with a very serious expression.
“Oh most definitely. Royal werewolves or not, no one will be a threat to our mate.” Griff nodded sternly.
“Speaking of threats….” I said, looking at Gabe.
“They found another small campsite about two hours away in Bristol, Tennessee with all the same scents. It looks like they just missed them again.” Gabe looked frustrated.
“Why are they going so far away? I would think Cairo would want to come at us again.” I frowned. Something about all of this wasn’t making sense to me.
“You think they’re trying to distract us?” Gabe asked, cocking his eyebrow.
“It just doesn’t make sense to me.”
“How would they be leading us away with Ciaro’s scent?” Griff wondered.
“Stranger things have happened.” I shrugged. I didn’t need to explain how it was happening, I just knew that something was happening.
“Well, the new security upgrades to the pack’s perimeter are nearly finished. The gate has been updated yet again and now there’s a fence all around the main part of our pack with guard towers every 100 yards or so. Guard details have been tripled along the fence and we’ve increased the Warriors training.” Griff reported.
“That’s great work, Griff.” Gabe nodded, looking impressed for once in his life.
The delicious scent of our mate came pouring into the room and then the door to Gabe’s office opened. She stomped inside, looking upset.
“You all left me.” She pouted. I chuckled and grabbed her around her waist, pulling her down onto my lap.
“I’m sorry, precious.” I said, admitting my mark on her neck.
“What are you three talking about?” She asked.
“The new security measures. But, now that you’re here, can we talk about your Luna ceremony?” Griff asked.
“Yes, little mate, I’d love to have your official Luna ceremony as soon as possible.” Gabe said, having been informed that she wanted to get his blessing first before agreeing.
“Okay, when?” Harlow asked. She was biting her lip and I could tell she was apprehensive about it, but putting on a brave face for us.
“This Saturday?” I suggested.
“That’s in a couple of days.” Her eyes went wide.
“Why wait?” I shrugged, running my nose along her mark. She shuttered and I saw the ember specs flair up in her eyes again.
“Okay.” She sighed in defeat.
“Look here, angel.” Griff said and she glanced towards her and Gabe. They both studied her fiery eyes.
“What?” She asked, looking around the room at us.
“Look.” I dug my phone out of my pocket and put the camera on selfie mode. She gasped and ripped the phone from my hand, touching her cheek as she looked at her eyes.
“What….” She stammered.
“Another dragon perk. Now we’ll know when you’re feeling strong emotions just like you always know with us.” I teased her.
She grumbled and handed back my phone.
“Little Luna, I have a request.” Gabe brought her attention towards him.
“Yes?” She eyed him skeptically. He held out a hand for her and she scrambled off my lap and into his arms. He brushed her hair back from her face,
“Please don’t leave the packhouse today.”
She frowned at first, seeming to be considering his favor, before she finally nodded.
“Okay, but I’m not going to be kept here forever.” She warned him.
“I know, baby, just for now.” He agreed, “I’ll call the girls and our mother over so you can start discussing the ceremony.”
“I need food first.” She complained, already heading towards the door.
“Nobody wants a hangry mate.” Griff chuckled, following after her.
