It seemed as if Ted would start wailing if Mick wouldn't agree to his demands.

Mick rubbed his temples and said, "Today's a special case. Let's just make do with new clothes for now."

"No way!"

"Ted, if you won't comply, we won't go out at all.""

"But I wanna go! I want my suit!"

""You're getting more unreasonable!"

as tears

"Mom never scolded me like that! You're mean!! Ted's face puffed up in frustration as

streamed down his cheek.

Mick ground his teeth in exasperation. "My patience is running out. If you keep crying, we're staying home!"

"Fine! I'll wear this! I'm not changing into anything!" Ted stubbornly retorted and gestured at his oversized gown. He wasn't intimidated even after being yelled at. Mick stood to leave, but Ted latched onto his leg and refused to let go.

When Mick tried to shake him off, he escalated to sitting on the floor and grabbing the leg of his pants while wailing loudly. He was both annoying and clingy. Mick was terribly irritated, but there was nothing he could do.

Adding to the chaos, Mona's texts kept coming in to ask where he was.

"Get up. I'll take you home to change." Mick finally conceded.

The tears stopped instantly, and Ted sprang to his feet. However, he kept a firm grip on Mick's clothes as if afraid that Mick might try to sneak away.

At the venue of the contest, the theoretical rounds had begun. Each group started answering rapid-fire questions.

Nydia's group was scheduled to be among the last, but watching the others compete had her nerves on edge.

Mona had arrived at the venue. She was the final guest appearance, so she was escorted by the bodyguards to a private lounge. Staff members were assigned to tend to her. But she pulled a long face the entire time. She responded with indifference and kept her eyes on her phone instead.

that M was

The part of the publicity team and had done their research beforehand. They'd heard had a great reputation in the industry and often treated the cast and crew to meals.

But now that they'd seen her firsthand, they realized the rumors were far from the truth.

Mona wasn't bothered by what they thought either. She was focused on her phone, and it'd been 30 minutes since Mick had last responded to her texts.

Gia noticed her foul mood and quickly ushered the staff out. After closing the door, she turned to Mona with concern. "Is it because of the birthday? Did Mr. Wilcher feel like we planned it on purpose?" "No. He sent me a gift afterward, so he must feel he owes me.

"But we were chatting just half an hour ago, and I wondered why he's gone silent."

Gia speculated and offered several explanations. In the end, she added, "Could it be that something happened to Mr. Ted?"

Mona scoffed. "He's here to see me, so why would he bring Ted? Every time he came, he'd always leave that brat with Nydia."

Gia thought about it and agreed. "Maybe he's driving here. If he's on the road, he won't be able to reply."

"Let's hope that's it." Mona glanced at her watch. "There's some time left before the finals,

and I'll wait."

Gia leaned in and said, "I saw Nydia. She seemed awfully close to the man next to her, and they were laughing and chatting. I took a picture. Would you like to see it?"

Gia had taken the picture from a strategic angle and made it seem as if Nydia was leaning intimately on Nelson. They appeared like a couple

Mona took one glance at the picture, and a playful glint flashed in her eyes. "Post it online. Caption it as 'Caught the sweetest couple.""
