Chapter 113 - Two Choices
“I'm done fighting!”
Yang Chuanwei spun on his heel, ready to storm off.
“Hold it right there!”
Jiang Hao's voice boomed.
Fuming, Yang Chuanwei whirled back, jabbing a finger at Sun Zhou as he roared at Jiang Hao.
“Jiang Hao, look at the state of my team! What more do you want?!”
Jiang Hao glanced at Sun Zhou, his face the picture of serenity as he spoke.
“What do you mean, you're done fighting?”
“You've got two choices: find a new challenger and keep going, or concede defeat and honor your word.”
Hearing this, Yang Chuanwei cast a glance at his disheartened teammates.
What's the point in continuing this charade?
Continuing the fight would only add to his humiliation.
“Xu Kun, pay them and let's get out of here!”
At his command, a substitute player reluctantly pulled out a wad of cash and handed it over to Liu Biao, wincing as he did so.
Grinning from ear to ear, Liu Biao accepted the money.
Seething, Yang Chuanwei turned and left with Sun Zhou in tow.
As they departed, Sun Zhou shot a venomous look back at Jiang Hao, his eyes like daggers.
Jiang Hao felt a prickling sensation and met Sun Zhou's gaze.
But by then, Sun Zhou was already being ushered away by Yang Chuanwei.
The defeated group slunk away, leaving Liu Biao and his crew in a state of euphoria.
“Master, you're incredible!”
Jiang Hao eyed Sun Zhou, his brow furrowing slightly, but he shrugged off the concern amidst the others' jubilation.
After all, it was just a minor athlete from a city sports team: hardly worth his attention.
“Master, where are we celebrating tonight?”
Liu Biao was buzzing with excitement, echoed by the eager faces of the other athletes looking to Jiang Hao for direction.
Jiang Hao gave the crowd a small smile and a shake of his head.
“Go ahead and have fun! I'll pass. My family's waiting for me at home.”
“Just be safe, okay?”
With that, Jiang Hao turned down Liu Biao's persistent invitations and headed home.
……
Jiang Hao arrived home as he always did. Stepping through the door, he was greeted by the sound of his mother's voice, deep in conversation.
Jiang Hao felt a spark of curiosity. Could there be a guest at home today?
With that thought, he entered through the front door.
Inside, Mrs. Jiang heard the door open and immediately turned to Xia Qin, Xin Er, and another young woman, whose beauty paled in comparison to Xia Qin, with a smile.
“My son must be home!”
They all looked toward the door and, sure enough, there was Jiang Hao stepping inside! contemporary romance
Jiang Hao glanced at Xia Qin and Xin Er, understanding the situation. But when his eyes landed on the woman next to Xia Qin, he was taken aback by her stunning appearance.
If Xia Qin was akin to a tulip, then the woman beside her, clad in black stockings and a figure-hugging black skirt, exuding a deadly allure, was like a fully bloomed poppy—irresistibly tempting.
“Brother!”
In that instant, Xin Er spotted Jiang Hao, released Xia Qin's hand, and dashed toward him.
Snapped out of his reverie, Jiang Hao crouched down with open arms, his face beaming with affection, ready to catch Xin Er as she ran into his embrace.
“Did you miss your brother, Xin Er?”
He asked gently, holding Xin Er close.
“Yes!”
“Where did you miss me?”
“Right here!”
Xin Er touched her chest and replied sweetly, prompting a round of hearty laughter.
Xia Qin spoke up, slightly embarrassed.
“Mr. Jiang, I'm afraid we need your help once more.”
Jiang Hao gave Xia Qin a nod of acknowledgment.
Then, Jiang’s mother, beaming with pride, pointed at Jiang Hao and introduced him to the other woman.
“Sister Xue, meet my son, Jiang Hao!”
