Chapter 723 The Spy
Chapter 723 The Spy
Everybody who made a living out of this industry wasn't silly.
Regardless of whether it was an entertainment journalist or an artist.
They were smart.
Although Wallace didn't look smart, he managed to gather all the other party's information secretly.
Faye took the file from him and opened it. She flipped through a few pages and stuffed the information into the file. Then, she put it away and said softly, "Send me your account number."
Wallace stared at Faye cautiously and asked, "Ms. Nash, are you trying to get me into trouble?"
Faye stood up and said, "If I really want to do something to you, do you think you can still sit here and chat with me in one piece?"
Wallace was relieved since he knew that Faye's words were true.
Wallace forced a smile on his face while looking at Faye and said, "Ms. Nash, I'm sorry about what happened today. If there is any bad news about Farrell Media from my end in the future, I will definitely inform you first."
The relationship between the entertainment company and the journalist worked reciprocally. It was like the water and the boat.
The water that bore the boat was the same that swallowed it up.
If their relationship got too tense, it would be hard for them to avoid backstabbing from someone who tried to frame them.
They just had to keep the relationship going. They helped each other and benefited each other.
Wallace found himself an out, and Faye honored it by saying, "Then, I would like to thank Mr. Fisher in advance."
Wallace replied, "Don't mention it."
Soon after Faye left the room, Wallace received a notification of the remittance.
He sat on the chair and chugged the tea. His heart was beating speedily and he murmured to himself, "I almost got myself into a disaster."
At the same time, Faye was on her way back to the office.
She took the gap of waiting for the traffic light at the intersection to call William.
After the ringtone rang for a few seconds, William answered the phone, "Ms. Nash."
Faye said, "William, is there a staff member names Alex over there?"
William was stunned and replied, "Yes. What's wrong?"
Faye told him honestly, "Wallace got the recording from him."
William asked, "Are you sure?"
Faye replied, "Yes."
William adjusted his breathing and said, "I see."
Faye responded on the other end with an "um" and continued, "Don't fire him. I suspect he is from Breanna Media."
When William heard Breanna Media, he was very angry.
He always knew that Breanna Media had something to do with Aniston's two previous accidents. He didn't expect there was a spy placed by Breanna Media next to her.
Although Faye couldn't see William's expression, she could feel William's emotional changes.
When the red traffic light turned green, Faye turned the steering wheel, and told William, "William, don't let the other party notice anything."
William answered, "Got it. Understood."
After hanging up with William, Faye accelerated the speed.
When the car arrived at the office, Faye drove the car into the underground parking lot and took the elevator upstairs.
As soon as Faye sat down in her office at the PR department, she received news from Lance about Wallace receiving a transfer of four hundred thousand dollars in his account the day before yesterday, and there was nothing unusual after that.
Faye responded with an "um".
There was no discrepancy with Wallace's confession.
After returning Lance's text, Faye put her phone on the desk and turned on the computer to check the latest news of Breanna Media.
While she was looking at the screen, her phone on the table vibrated.
Faye raised her eyes and glanced over. There was a text from Rebecca that popped up on the screen and told Faye, "I had a new haircut today which looked so ugly. I don't feel like want to meet anyone at this moment."
Faye smiled, reached out for the phone, and replied with an "oh".
Rebecca: [I am feeling so bad now and you just replied with an "oh"?]
Faye: [Have you ever thought that maybe it got nothing to do with the hairstyle?]
Rebecca: [Huh?]
Faye: [Your face might be the problem.]
