Chapter 979
Chapter 979
The word 'honest' made Theodore chuckle.
"I'm not as honest as you think I am. I lied to my wife before. In order to be with another woman, I lied to my wife that I was overseas for a business trip. Doesn't that make me bad enough?
"I trust you had your reasons. You're a man. No matter what you do, you surely have your reasons."
"Aurora, you think too highly of me. I didn't do everything because of valid reasons. I'm just bad."
"No, Theo. In my eyes, you're the best man. No matter what you do, you have your reasons. Even if you had an affair, even if you went looking for another woman, I'm sure you had your reasons. I'll always understand you, because you're the main lead of my life. I will
unconditionally accept whatever you do, make excuses for you, and be your most lowly servant."
It was very normal for men to have affairs outside of marriage. A man like Theodore who was young, rich, and handsome, was the object of worship of countless women, who had a crush on him and dreamt of being with him.
It was very common for a man like him to have many women.
Rosalie must have not been good enough for Theodore to want to divorce her. If she had been good enough, why would he divorce her?
She must have been promiscuous and had affairs with many men, which was why Theodore despised her.
Rosalie must have been with Sebastian a long time ago, which was why Theodore couldn't stand her and wanted a divorce. Theodore was a good man, and had decided to defend his ex-wife and take the blame for the divorce by claiming to have been unfaithful.
It was all Rosalie's fault! No matter what, it was the responsibility of a woman to take care of her husband, stay loyal, and stick with him through thick and thin.
That was what a true woman should be.
Rosalle clearly wasn't a decent woman since she divorced Theodore, married Sebastian, and had a child with him.
And now, she was trying to seduce Theodore again.
What right did a promiscuous woman like her have to be with Theodore?
She was not fit to be with Theodore. She was filthy!
What wrong could a man do? It would always be a woman's fault.
It was normal for a man to hurt a woman. In fact, the man would be doing the woman a service by winning her back.
If she refused to forgive him, she was just being a bitch!
Theodore thought Aurora must have gone a bit mad to say something so irrational and foolish. She was rambling incoherently and illogically.
Did she love him too much, or was she becoming delirious?
Theodore reached out to feel Aurora's forehead. She didn't seem to have a fever and her body temperature felt normal.
Perhaps she was too heartbroken and feeling too hopeless; that's why she was talking
nonsense.
"Aurora, that's enough. Get some sleep, it's already very late."
Aurora looked very haggard, too. She probably didn't sleep well over the past few days.
"No, I'm not sleeping." Aurora hugged Theodore tightly. "If I sleep, I won't be able to see you. I'm scared that you'll be gone and go back looking for her when I open my eyes again."
"I won't. Get some rest. I'll still be here after you wake up.
"Really?" Aurora asked doubtfully.
Theodore nodded. "Really, I promise you."
"What if you're lying to me? What if...what if I wake up and find you some?"
"Aurora, if you find me gone, then go ahead and hate me and leave me."
"No, I won't hate you or leave you!" Aurora said as she hugged him tighter, for fear that he might flee. Her voice was drenched with anxiety. "Theo, I was wrong. I shouldn't have forced you to promise me. It's fine even if you're not here. I'm sure you have something to attend to. It's fine-I'll be good, I will."
She loved this man to the point of senselessness and without any boundaries.
Perhaps it's true that all women love a bad man.
A handsome bastard would make some women fall head over heels in love.
Aurora was one of them.
