CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1874

As the clinical trial preparations reached a critical stage, problems began piling up one after another.

First, the experimental samples inexplicably got mixed up, with several key data sets mismatched. Then, the equipment started malfunctioning frequently, leaving the technicians at their wits' end, unable to pinpoint the cause. Karina was on edge, spending her days in the lab with bloodshot eyes. Wilfred, equally tense, coordinated efforts from all directions with a stern expression.

One day, as Karina stared at the chaotic sample records in frustration, Wilfred walked in quickly, his expression grim.

"I don't think this is just a series of accidents. Someone's deliberately sabotaging us. We can't just sit back and take this. We need to act."

Karina bit her lip and nodded firmly. "I've been thinking the same thing, but who could it be?"

After some discussion, they decided to start by investigating the people they had interacted with recently.

As they were talking, Benedict arrived with a group of assistants, wearing a broad smile. "Dr. Wilfred, Dr. Norman, I heard there were some minor issues. I came by to see if there's anything I can do to help."

Wilfred's gaze swept over him briefly before he replied in an even tone, "Mr. Lowe, these back-to-back incidents are unusual. Maybe it's time to take a closer look at your internal management. We can't afford to let this jeopardize such an important project." Benedict's expression faltered for a moment before he let out an awkward laugh. "Of course, of course. I've already arranged for a thorough investigation. Rest assured, I'll give you both a satisfactory explanation."

As he spoke, his eyes flicked briefly toward one of his assistants. The assistant's eyes darted nervously, his demeanor uneasy.

Karina, noticing this, exchanged a knowing glance with Wilfred. They had their suspicions.

Once Benedict and his team left, Wilfred said in a low voice, "Keep an eye on that assistant. He's definitely involved."

Karina nodded and quietly arranged for someone to monitor the assistant's movements.

Sure enough, later that night, the assistant was caught sneaking into the lab, attempting to tamper with the remaining samples. Wilfred arrived with a team just in time to block his escape. Realizing he had no way out, the assistant collapsed to the floor, trembling as he confessed.

It turned out that the mastermind behind the sabotage was the long-absent vice chairman of HeShare Pharmaceuticals.

Resentful of being sidelined, he had orchestrated the disruptions in an attempt to sabotage Benedict and regain control of the company. He had no regard for the countless patients whose lives depended on the success of the project.

When Benedict learned of this, he was both shocked and furious. He personally apologized to Karina and Wilfred.

"This was my oversight. I had no idea he would stoop to such despicable tactics. I'll ensure he faces severe consequences, and do everything in my power to guarantee the project proceeds smoothly. Your efforts won't go to

waste."

With the culprit exposed, the project got back on track.

The clinical trials began on schedule, and patients started receiving treatment. Day by day, the collected data showed promising trends, allowing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief.

After months of hard work, the project finally showed results. The new drug demonstrated remarkable effectiveness, with a growing number of recovery cases. Before long, the hospital delivered some good news. Yvette had successfully resolved the emergency, and everything was running smoothly again. She called them, her tone playful.

"You two are out there achieving big wins, but don't forget about me-the poor soul chained to the hospital. You owe me a proper treat when you're back!"

Karina laughed and promised, "Don't

worry, we won't forget you! When

we're back, let's set aside some time

for a proper get-together, and I'll share all the funny stories we've collected during this time."

After hanging up, Karina turned to Wilfred with a smile, her eyes crinkling with amusement. "Yvette hasn't changed one bit-still as fiery and full of energy as ever."
