After I Let Go My Alpha He Knelt in Regret

Chapter In Regret Novel 146

Chapter 130

Lorik's words quieted the class as the students looked at each other as if trying to find the man

behind the hideout.

He paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. "Shirley is not just any student here-she is my Luna. We've been married for over three years. At the time we wed, I was crippled, unable to walk, and possibly facing a life where I'd never stand again. Yet, she stayed. Despite my anger, my mood swings, my throwing things in frustration, she never once complained. A selfish person could never show the kind of dedication and love she gave me."

The room erupted In applause, and Lorik turned his attention to Sorcia, whose face had turned pale. "I have evidence," he stated, his voice sharp. "And I will find out who was behind this. Whoever orchestrated this will face consequences-severe ones."

Sorcia was speechless, her mouth slightly open but no words coming out. I watched her closely, my own expression unreadable, but inside, I felt a wave of satisfaction. Lorik had just defended me in front of the entire school. My heart softened a little as I gazed at him, this tall, imposing figure who had just bared his scars in front of everyone for my sake.

After class, I walked toward the school gates, where Lorik was already waiting, leaning against a wall and casually smoking a cigarette. The moment he saw me, he snuffed it out and stepped forward, his expression softening. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and filled with concern.

I smiled slightly. "I'm fine. I knew they'd try something like this when I came back. I was prepared."

Lorik raised an eyebrow. "Sorcia's plan was to get your adoptive parents to ruin your reputation on live TV, wasn't it?"

I nodded. "Yes. She thought she could bribe them, but I was one step ahead. I bribed Alice, and told me everything Sorcia had planned."

He smiled knowingly. "So, that was the second favor you asked of Alice that day at the restaurant."

I gave a small laugh and nodded again.

Lorik's approving look deepened. "I've already started investigating the whole situation, and I've made sure the TV station won't allow something like this to happen again." Though I don't want to bother you

Lorik chuckled, leaning in a bit. "I'd like you to keep bothering me every day."

rolled my eyes, a playful smirk tugging at my lips. "Then I won't. You'll get annoyed with me eventually."

He tilted his head, feigning innocence. "Annoyed? Never. Besides, if you ever get mad, you'll probably run to one of those men who've been chasing after you."

Before I could respond, my phone rang. I glanced at the screen and saw the caller ID-Shakira.

I answered, her voice instantly subdued and cautious. "We... we told the truth on the program, just

like you asked. We didn't take any money from the Flameheart Tribe to smear you, I swear. That... uh, about the money we owe you... is there any way we could... extend the deadline a little?"

"Yes," I said firmly, my voice sharp with purpose. "I can extend the repayment period for you, but in return, I need something from Alice. She must keep a close eye on Sorcia and inform me the moment anything happens. Is that clear?"

There was a brief pause before Shakira's voice rang through the phone, tinged with nervous excitement. "Yes, yes, of course! I'll tell Alice. She'll stick to Sorcia like glue and keep you updated on

everything."

Satisfied, I ended the call and turned to face Lorik, who had been silently watching me, his intense gaze never wavering. Without missing a beat, he offered, "How about dinner? Somewhere quiet, just

us."

I checked the time on my phone, my schedule tight. "I appreciate it, but I have work tomorrow. I need to head to the airport."

A flicker of disappointment crossed Lorik's face, his protective nature stirred at the mere mention of me leaving. He sighed softly, clearly unhappy with the distance but knowing better than to push. "At least let me drive you to the airport," he suggested, his voice laced with reluctant understanding. I considered his offer and nodded. "Alright."

As we drove, the car hummed with a quiet that felt almost unnatural, until Lorik broke the silence. "Where exactly are you going?"

"I have a car endorsement event in Valegrad," I replied, mentioning the city that was as beautiful as it was troubled.

His expression darkened immediately. "Valegrad? That place has been a hotbed for trouble recently. Bandits, unrest... it's not safe. You can't go there."
